All plant and equipment consist of the most recent, industry leading products that will provide reliable service and meet all industry standards, as all equipment is well maintained with stringent preventive maintenance procedures and we are continually expanding and updating our fleet. All hi-rail plant has up to date certifications, licencing, testing and permits.

Hi-Rail Excavators
Hi-rail excavators are available in a range of sizes from 6T to 32T and are available in tracked or wheeled models with either tri or dual-gauge hi-rail systems to suit all rail situations. All hi-rail excavators are fitted with rotary tilt hitches for safety, performance and productivity. Our excavators have the latest in safety and operating systems with Insulated rail wheels conforming to the ANZR1 profile.
Hi-Rail excavators can come with the following but are not limited to:
- Height limiter
- Slew limiter
- Load management systems
- Vigilance and data logging systems
- Clear train stops
- Exclusion zone delineation lighting
- Heavy Lifting capabilities
The standard attachment pack includes
- Rail threader
- Forks with grab

Hi-Rail Backhoe Loaders
Hi-rail Backhoe loaders are available in the JCB 3CX model. These wheeled models are fitted with dual-gauge hi-rail systems All hi-rail backhoes are fitted with quick hitches for safety, performance and productivity. Our backhoes have the latest in safety and operating systems with Insulated rail wheels conforming to the ANZR1 profile.
Hi-Rail backhoe loaders can come with the following but are not limited to:

- Height limiter for both loader and excavator arm
- Load management systems
- Exclusion zone delineation lighting

Hi-Rail Dumpers
Jordan Rail Hi-Rail Dumpers have the latest safety and operating systems and come in various sizes from 6T to 25T models. The hi-rail dumpers can come with the following systems:
- Inclinometers
- Scales
- Clear train stops
- Work under live overheads approvals
There are three body types available
- 180-degree slew front tip bin
- 180-degree slew rear tip bins
- walking floors with 180-degree slew conveyor capable of 4m reach.

Hi-Rail Piling Rigs
Hi-Rail Piling Rig
Jordan Rail has designed and commissioned a purpose-built hi-rail piling rig. The hi-rail crawler piling rig has a tri gauge hi-rail system with hydro-static control and insulated rail wheels. The drill rig is mounted on a 25-ton zero swing excavator base which allows access and working range in the tightest of sites and also allows free movement of other rail traffic on adjacent lines. It has an excellent working range on and off track and is capable of reaching up embankments and down into cuttings from off-track in the corridor enabling work to be undertaken without track possessions where local regulations permit.
The piling rig has an impressive drilling torque, 7.5m reach and a drilling depth of 12m (Kelly bar interchangeable for depths of 25m). It also comes with a wide range of drilling tools such as augers, core barrels and cleaning buckets from 450mm in diameter to 1,200mm, larger diameters are achievable with custom attachments.

Movax
Jordan Rail also has a Movax excavator-mounted auger drive for cast in-situ piling and other earth drilling works. Especially suitable for work in confined spaces or low headroom spaces while still being good at reaching over obstacles. This rig is equipped with interlocking type Kelly bars with a 15m drilling depth and can drill up to 1,500mm in diameter. The Movac is set up and calibrated for the Colmar hi-rail wheeled excavators.

Hi-Rail Multi Crane
The new Hi-Rail SENNEBOGEN Crawler multi-crane 608R has a tri gauge hi-rail system with hydro-static control and insulated rail wheels. The multi-crane has an MRC of 8T and can lift and carry on and off track, even on rough terrain. The multi-crane can utilise:
- Crane winch
- Lifting fork
- 360° working platform
- Loading shovel
- Crane boom/Jib
- Manipulator grab
This makes this multi-crane very versatile on and off track especially when installing structures and overhead wiring.
The crane can also be equipped with hi-rail trollies for delivering structures and materials to installation sites. The unique expanding track system on the crane enables it to extend the tracks out beyond the rail lines and drop down onto the ballast to perform lifting duties with full civil crane lift chart capabilities without the need for crane pads or outriggers. The crane then lowers the rail gear, retracts the undercarriage and continues to the next site, it is a very effective time-saving feature when doing multiple installs.

Hi-Rail EWP
Jordan Rail has a variety of Hi-Rail Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs) and comes in a range of sizes and types including EWP trucks, self-propelled booms and self-propelled scissor lifts. Jordan Rail has an EWP for all jobs and has EWPs with a reach of up to 20 metres.
The range of elevated work platforms includes:
- Self-propelled hi-rail EWP.
- Hi-Rail truck-mounted lift boom platforms.
- Hi-rail crane / EWP units.
EWP can also come with the following specifications

Hi-Rail Flocon / River Trout Truck
Hi-rail live bottom / flocon trucks and moxies are very versatile and ideal for ballast or material transport or discharge on or off track. These body units are ideal for rail works, they can operate under overhead obstacles like power lines and bridges are great for bulk discharge or placement of material.
The flocon can have the following attachments
- Centre chute for track centre discharge
- 180-degree chute attachment for shoulder discharge
- Extendable conveyor belt for shoulder discharge
- 180-degree 4m conveyor belt for shoulder discharge (Moxy)
Can also carry up to 22 tonnes per load when operating on track.

Hi-Rail Tipper Trucks
Jordan Rail has road-rail 3-way tipper trucks available for hire. The Hi-Rail tippers have the following features:
- Dual gauge - standard or broad gauge
- 3-way tipper body.
- Chutes fitted to the rear allow material to be accurately placed along the shoulder.
- Electronic height control prevents the tipper body from exceeding a configurable limit whilst operating underwires.
- On-rail GVM of 30T.

Hi-Rail Crane Trucks
Jordan Rail has hi-rail crane trucks for hire. The hi-rail crane trucks are ideal for general transport along the track, lifting and positioning structures, Carting and Guiding wire
The hi-rail crane trucks can be used for:
- General transport of small construction equipment, tools or materials on or off track.
- lifting and positioning structures
- Carting and Guiding wire
- Water cart /fire suppression system to support the welding crew
- Track maintenance – Can use Hydraulic Tools
- Ideal for rail works, they can operate under the overheads
- Ability to work in underground rail lines (Euro 5 & Scrubber/Air purifier)

Hi-Rail Hook Trucks
Hi-rail hook trucks are very versatile trucks, used for the pick-up/drop off or moving of bins between sites or up and track. The hi-rail truck has the following skids but not limited to:

- 4,500 Litre Water Pod with Diesel Powered Water Pump
- Skips / Bins
- Litter Master, Leaf/ Litter Vacuum System
We can also make custom skids for a specialised job if required.

Hi-Rail Gang Trucks
Jordan Rail has hi-rail gang trucks for hire. These hi-rail gang trucks are ideal for general track maintenance or construction with plenty of storage compartments for tools, a hydraulic power pack for hydraulic tools and a tail lift.
The hi-rail crane trucks can be used for:
- General transport of small construction equipment, tools or materials on or off track.
- Track maintenance – Can use hydraulic tools
- Ideal for rail works, they can operate under live overheads
- Ability to work in underground rail lines (Euro 5 & Scrubber/Air purifier)
The hi-rail gang trucks can also come with the following options:

Hi-Rail Agitators / Concrete Mixers
Jordan Rail has several new Hi-Rail Agitators / Concrete Mixers with a capacity of up to 5.5m3. These agitators are a very efficient way of transporting concrete to its location. It is Ideal for sites only accessible from track or tunnel works.
These agitators have the following:
- Dual gauge – Standard and Broad
- Full spec for Rail Network and Tunnel
- Twin steer axles
- Up to 5.5m3 capacity
- Mixing drum is on a 180o turntable – Drum can turn to the left or right for easy discharging
- 6m reach from the centre of the track

Hi-Rail Utility Vehicles
Jordan Rail can dry hire Kubota RTV900 Hi-Rail Utility Vehicles. The Kubota Utility Vehicle can be used as:
- Inspection vehicle
- General work vehicle
- Welding vehicle
- Weed/vegetation control unit
- Fire suppression vehicle.
The Kubota utility vehicle has a hydraulic tri gauge rail guidance system with a hydraulic tipping cargo tray and can come with a light hi-rail trolley for extra storage/carrying capacity, vegetation control system or fire suppression system making it a very versatile hi-rail vehicle.
